FTRA has held 3 separate training sessions this fall to bring in new volunteers to replace those who we have lost over the last year. We always appreciate our volunteers and understand when folks move on (due to school, work, moving, etc.) and are excited to welcome new people into our group as always! Thank you to all the FTRA volunteers who have helped with these training sessions, and we look forward to a great fall session with our riders - we are enjoying the last of these warm fall nights while they last!

The weather cooperated and we didn't get rained out. The bidding was down from previous years but we still managed to make over $1000!
Many thanks to all the volunteers that helped witht the set-up, cooking, tending cash, looking after the auction and clean up. With out your help the day would not have been as fun or successful.
Thanks to Kim and Frank Taylor for all the support we recevie from them all year long.

Members of Fredericton’s Therapeutic Riding Association have elected seven volunteer directors including John M. Bowles, a retired businessman and career volunteer, as president.
The association with its team of accredited instructors, organizes programs of therapeutic horseback riding for people with special needs, notably children. Improving balance, firming weak muscles, retaining memory and increasing self-confidence are just some of the program’s benefits.
Silverwood Arabian Farm on Fredericton’s Woodstock Road provides the specially trained horses, a covered arena and a member’s viewing area for the programs that start in March.
The association relies heavily on volunteers and rider’s parents or guardians to help run the programs and various fundraising events. Volunteers assist in many different ways including working with the instructors and preparing the riders for program participation.
Joining Bowles are Richard Low as vice-president, Trudy Pickering, secretary, Michael Walker, treasurer and directors Jason Wall, Sophie Jensen and Ron Rinehart. Leanne Fitch remains on the board as Immediate Past President.
